Who Runs the Walks on the Perito Moreno Glacier?

Hielo y Aventura holds the national park's concession for walks on the Perito Moreno's ice; other companies sell Minitrekking and Big Ice days. Who sells what, and what they add.

Updated November 2026

One company runs the walks on the ice of the Perito Moreno glacier: Hielo y Aventura. The Administración de Parques Nacionales lists it as the concessionaire for “Trekking sobre hielo (Minitrekking y Big Ice en Glaciar Moreno)”, along with the boats on Brazo Rico. Many companies sell days that include its walks, but Hielo y Aventura also sells its own on GetYourGuide, and its Mini-Trek is from US$346 a person (checked November 2026) for the 4.5-hour option from the port.

Hielo y Aventura runs the walks on the ice; we don’t. Bookings go through GetYourGuide or Viator.

What the park says

The Administración de Parques Nacionales publishes the concessionaires of Los Glaciares National Park. Under Hielo y Aventura it lists excursions, navigation on Brazo Rico, trekking on the ice (Minitrekking and Big Ice on the Moreno glacier) and trekking without ice (Safari Azul). It names no other company for walks on the ice (APN, concessionaires, page updated December 2025, read November 2026).

Hielo y Aventura is an Argentine company based in El Calafate, with a concession to provide services in Los Glaciares National Park and more than 35 years of boats on the lake and walks on the glacier. It created the Minitrekking in 1989 (Hielo y Aventura, about us, read November 2026).

Minitrekking and Big Ice are Hielo y Aventura’s product names, registered as trademarks in Argentina. Other sellers use them in their titles for the days they sell; this site uses them only for Hielo y Aventura’s walks.

Hielo y Aventura’s own listings

Hielo y Aventura sells three walks on GetYourGuide under its own name, “Hielo y Aventura S.A”:

Who else sells the walks

These companies sell days built around the same walks, under their own names. What they add is mostly transport, the walkways and sometimes a cruise:

Their prices differ from Hielo y Aventura’s own, sometimes by a lot, and so do their cancellation windows and age rules, which each seller sets. What a glacier walk costs sets the prices side by side.

Why it matters when you book

The limits that decide whether you go are Hielo y Aventura’s rules for its walks: the ages, the body mass index rule, the medical form on Big Ice, and the guide’s call on the day. Other sellers set their own limits, and some differ, so read them before you book. Questions about your booking, payment or a refund go to the platform you booked through.

If you want to book with the company that runs the walk, its own Mini-Trek listing is the one.
